Namely
Betaine cocamidopropyl or CAPB is amphoteric surfactant often used in shower gels and shampoos as a secondary TA. It has softened more aggressive surfactants such as sulfated anionics such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This surfactant is made from coconut oil derivative and dimethylaminopropylamine, which does not make it a natural compound.
It is one of the ingredients that is an exception in the COSMOS specifications: it is authorized in organic.
