Namely Calcium hydroxide is also called "slaked lime" or "hydrated lime". This element is formed with water and lime. Limewater is the essential base ingredient for making oleo-limestone liniments. We find calcium hydroxide in hair straightening products, it has the ability to change the structure of the hair: it destroys the sulfide bonds that link the amino acids in locks of hair and changes their physical structure. Finally, it is also used in some products as a PH regulator, being basically alkaline.
