Namely Stearic acid or octadecanoic acid is a saturated fatty acid. It is found in its natural state in various animal fats (beef, pork, etc.) and vegetable fats (rapeseed oil, soya, palm, etc.). For example, it is one of the main components of cocoa butter and shea butter. It is used in cosmetics as a cleansing agent, thickener and emulsion stabilizer.
It is authorized in Bio if it is of vegetable origin (without GMO).

  • Emulsifying : Promotes the formation of intimate mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil)
  • Emulsion stabilising : Promotes the emulsification process and improves the stability and shelf life of the emulsion
  • Masking : Reduces or inhibits the odor or basic taste of the product
  • Refatting : Restores lipids in hair or in upper layers of the skin
