Namely Polyethylene (PE) is one of the simplest polymers to manufacture and one of the cheapest. The balls of polyethylenes (microbeads) have been banned since 1 January 2018 in cosmetics: they were used in scrubs. Nevertheless, the legislator to forget that this material could also be present in a more liquid form and was still widely used in lipsticks, lip care and many make-ups. It is forbidden in organic.

  • Film forming : Produces a continuous film on skin, hair or nails
  • Viscosity controlling : Increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetics
