Namely Sodium dehydroacetate is a preservative used in cosmetics for its antimicrobial properties. Although the ingredient seems to pose few health problems, note however that its concentration is limited (see below) and is prohibited in aerosol spray products. It is authorized in Bio.

The maximum concentration allowed in ready-to-use cosmetic preparations is
0.6% (in acid).
