Namely Laureth-10 is a very mild nonionic surfactant. It is produced by ethoxylation from lauric alcohol. The number 10 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units repeated in the molecule. It is often used in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent (allows fatty substances to mix easily with water).

  • Emulsifying : Promotes the formation of intimate mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil)
  • Surfactant : Reduces the surface tension of cosmetics and contributes to the even distribution of the product when it is used
