Laureth-10 is a very mild nonionic surfactant. It is produced by ethoxylation from lauric alcohol. The number 10 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units repeated in the molecule. It is often used in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent (allows fatty substances to mix easily with water).
