Namely Benzyl Cinnamate is one of the 24 regulated allergens in Europe. It is present in its natural state in Peruvian balsam, Tolu balsam, copaiba balsam or Benzoin. It is used as an aroma in essential oils or can be produced in the laboratory.

The presence of the substance shall be indicated in the list of ingredients referred to in Article 19 (1) (g) when its concentration is greater:
- to 0,001% in products without rinsing
- to 0,01% in the products to be rinsed
