Dihydroxyacetone or DHA is present in the form of a white crystalline powder. It is used in the formulation of self-tanning products and personal care products, good-mine type for example. DHA induces a coloration of the upper layers of the skin by reacting with the amino acids, and this happens without the sun and without risk to health.
