Namely Selenium disulfide is a salt composed of sulfur and selenium. It is used as antifungal agent in shampoos for the treatment of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis associated with the scalp and fungi of the genus Malassezia. Note that it can cause color changes on hair dyes.
Restriction in Europe: III/49
Allowed only in anti-dandruff shampoos.
The maximum concentration allowed is 1%.
