From 17 December 2022, the following maximum concentrations will apply to the ingredient:
a) 0.06% in leave-on skin products (except face make-up, spray/aerosol body lotions, spray/aerosol deodorants and hydroalcoholic-based fragrances) and leave-on hair and facial hair products (except spray/aerosol products)
b) 0.05% in face make-up (except lip products, eye make-up and make-up remover)
c) 0.002% in eye make-up and make-up remover
d) 0.009% in leave-on hair and facial hair products (spray/aerosol)
e) 0.003% in spray/aerosol deodorants
f) 0.04% in spray/aerosol body lotions
g) 0.06% in skin rinses (except hand washing products) and hair and facial hair rinses
h) 0.6% in handwash products
i) 0.6% in hydroalcoholic perfumes
j) 0.03% in lip care products
k) 2.52% in toothpastes
l) 0.1% in mouthwashes intended for children aged 6 to 10 years
m) 0.6% in mouthwashes intended for children aged over 10 years and adults
n) 0.65% in mouth sprays
Prohibited for use in formulations designed for children under 6 years old, except its inclusion in 'toothpaste' as specified.
The presence of the substance must be listed in the ingredients outlined in Article 19(1)(g) if its concentration exceeds:
- 0.001% in leave-on products,
- 0.01% in rinse-off products.
