Namely Better known as Vitamin C, ascorbic acid is used in cosmetics for its antioxidant properties. It is found quite regularly in anti-aging active ingredients, since it protects cells from damage caused by free radicals and evens out the complexion. It is also present in many other skincare products for these properties.
It is present in its natural form in fruits and vegetables (lemons, oranges, kiwis, etc.)
