Namely Retinol is produced synthetically, but is naturally present in animal fats, fish liver oil and plants containing beta-carotene. Retinol is a natural form of vitamin A, which works by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and increasing the thickness and elasticity of the skin.
It is prohibited in organic products.
Restriction in Europe: Maximum authorized concentration: 0.05% in body lotions and 0.3% in other products
This restriction is applicable from November 1, 2025 for new products placed on the market and from May 1, 2027 for all products.
