Namely Bentonite is a clay that usually comes from volcanic ash. It mainly consists of silica and aluminum as well as other minerals, including sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron oxide and potassium. Bentonite clay is used in cosmetics as a texturizer, filler, thickener and pigment binder.
