This substance is a lichen which proliferates on the bark of trees and mainly on oaks. In cosmetics, "Oak moss" is used in particular in "Cyprus", a base for perfumes. It is one of the 24 allergens regulated by Europe.
Restriction in Europe:
III/91 The presence of the substance shall be indicated in the list of ingredients referred to in Article 19 (1) (g) when its concentration is greater:
- to 0,001% in products without rinsing
- to 0,01% in the products to be rinsed
