Bisabolol, also known as Levomenol, is obtained by distillation of certain essential oils, including wild camomile (Matricaria Recutita). It is in the form of a slightly fragrant oily liquid. It is used in cosmetics for its soothing properties, but is also known as an anti-inflammatory and healing agent. It is also for these functions (anti-irritant) that it is found in some toothpastes.
