Namely Silica is a naturally occurring mineral in sandstone, clay and granite, as well as in some parts of plants and animals. It is used for various reasons in cosmetics: abrasive in toothpastes, opacifying in powder and blush, or absorbing in deodorants. Silica is allowed in Bio.

  • Bulking : Reduces apparent cosmetics density.
  • Opacifying : Reduces transparency or translucency of cosmetics
  • Viscosity controlling : Increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetics
